As Melbourne celebrated the first weekend of true spring weather, the best sides across the VETO Sports State League gathered at The Home of The Matildas to battle it out for silverware in the Senior Men and Senior Women’s VETO Sports State League Finals.
The stunning weather truly matched the talent on display across the home of football in the state, with no shortage of goals scored and thrilling finishes enjoyed.
When the final whistle sounded late on Sunday night, 15-new VETO Sports State League Champions had been crowned.

This year’s installment also saw the Grand Finals of the Junior Girls Sunday Under 12 to Under 17/18 competitions played and won, with season finales played out across every pitch in the precinct.
Football Victoria Head of Competitions Jimmy Whitehead was thrilled with how the weekend turned out.
“It’s always a great pleasure to see every rectangular surface here at The Home of The Matildas and wider La Trobe University Sports Park being used to play football, and this weekend was no exception.
“To have Junior Girls Grand Finals being played as curtain raisers to Senior State League Men’s and Women’s Grand Finals was something very special and we hope everyone who attended enjoyed it.
