Representative Teams: Senior Women
National Championships | Women's National Soccer League | Representative Squads
The first incarnation of a Women's national domestic league was born in 1996, with the introduction of the Ansett Australia Summer Series, which involved institute teams from each state federation competing against each other in various league formats. By the time the last edition of what became known as the Women's National Soccer League arrived in 2005, it had reverted to a week-long championship model, much like the original National Championships which made their debut some thirty years earlier. Victoria's success was limited, often finishing near the foot of the table in each season. A full description for each season can be found on OzFootball by following each year link.
