VPL1/2 Victoria Men's Best and Fairest
The birth of the National Premier Leagues Victoria in 2014 witnessed a rebranded semi-professional second tier, and with it came a Best and Fairest award which provided the next generation with an opportunity to claim personal honours. Sean Seavill claimed the first ever NPL2 Best and Fairest, with Brandon Barnes going back-to-back in 2017 before moving up to the top flight. In 2020, a third tier was introduced, but that and the following season were cut short owing to COVID-19, with the first award at that level honoured in 2022. From 2024, the NPL brand was dropped from the second and third tiers, with the Victorian Premier League resurrected after over a decade in mothballs.
