NPL Victoria Men's Rising Star Award
Introduced in 1991 as the Victorian Premier League Under 21 Player of the Year, the Rising Star has witnessed a number of future superstars rewarded for impressive seasons as youngsters. Future Golden Boot winner Sash Becvinovski won the inaugural award, and along with Matthew Millar, is the only player to have claimed it on two occasions. Josip Skoko, James Holland and Jason Davidson are Socceroos who cut successfully cut their teeth in Victoria's top flight before embarking on whirlwind careers abroad.
