McQuarrie-Rocco Award
Named in honour of two of Victoria's state team representatives, Gail McQuarrie and Carmen Rocco, who were tragically killed in a car accident in 1983 after competing in a football match in Sydney, this award was originally awarded to the most valuable state team player, but as the Nationals wound up, it was repurposed as the best Victorian Women's National Soccer League player. It was awarded for a final time when that competition ended in 2006, Sarah Groenewald the final name engraved on the trophy.
